10 August 2026: Banstead Woods - WOOD WARBLER

 A Wood Warbler was reported via Birdguides at Banstead Woods on 10th August, near Harholt. This is the fourth record in our area. Wood Warblers are now very scarce in SE England and especially in the area inside the M25, They are now so rare that a description is now required by the London and  the Surrey Bird Clubs for records to be accepted

 17 butterfly species today including an unusually pale, freshly emerged Clouded Yellow at Fames Rough Field. Almost white upper-side of wings indicates a female.  Also two Hummingbird Hawk Moths at Fames Rough.
